LVL Beam Calculator
Pick what you're building, give us the span and what bears on it, and we'll show the Versa-Lam® LVL sizes that carry it — from Boise's engineered 2.1E-3100 load tables. LVL spans farther than sawn lumber, so it shines on long headers, ridges, and girders.
Final sizes must be confirmed by a licensed engineer before you build or pull a permit. Builders Supply can get your design stamped and supply the material — just ask.
Sizing based on Boise Cascade® published Versa-Lam® LVL 2.1E-3100 load tables. Builders Supply is a stocking dealer.

Multi-span beams, point loads, cantilevers, wind/seismic, or a permit job — Builders Supply will get it sealed by a licensed engineer and supply the LVL. One stop.
Sizes are read from Boise Cascade's published Versa-Lam® LVL 2.1E-3100 beam load tables (Product Data MTP-E7000) for uniformly loaded, simple-span beams, dry-use, with lateral support along the compression edge and at bearings. Total-load values are limited by shear, moment, or deflection (L/240 floor & snow, L/180 non-snow). Tables exclude wind, point loads, cantilevers, and multi-span conditions. Multi-ply beams must be fastened per Boise's nailing schedule. Built-up widths: 1¾″ = 1-ply, 3½″ = 2-ply, 5¼″ = 3-ply, 7″ = 4-ply. Span is center-to-center of supports. Tributary estimates assume standard symmetric framing — confirm your load path. 1.8E-2650 grade will be added when its load tables are sourced. This is a material-selection guide; confirm final design against your building code, or with a licensed engineer for permitted work.
